Mail Ordered A 24 Volt DC Power Supply

One of my long term goals is go off the electrical grid. I've already worked out that in my senior years I won't have the financial means of sustaining my own home and non traditional housing is my only option.
My power wheelchair uses DC electricity. This is the same type of electricity residential solar panels and wind turbines generate. I am working towards creating a lithium battery for my power wheelchair as a precursor to going off the electrical grid. I want to make sure I have a practical understanding in order to manage generating all my own electricity myself.
I've just mail ordered a 24 volt DC power supply. I will be using this with the lithium battery I am making to power my wheelchair. It is going to be a while before I will have the funds for all the components of the lithium battery. Creating my battery charger is my next step. When this battery is ready I am expecting it to last 40 years. This will certainly help me in my day to day life and get the practical knowledge I need for the next step in preparing to go off the electrical grid.
