Replaced Smoke - Carbon Monoxide Detector

A few days ago I purchased a smoke - carbon monoxide detector. This was to replace the unit in my stair well. I just finished installing it. This is one thing I am able to cross of my "to do" list. The smoke - carbon monoxide detectors I purchased were sealed and had built in lithium batteries. They "chirped" their "end of life" after 5 years and not the 10 indicated on the packaging. The model I have been replacing these with has a battery compartment used to change the battery every 6 months. I think this is best going forward.
