Ordered A Bag To Store And Carry My Camera Equipment

I've ordered a bag to store and carry my digital camera and accessories. I've looked through a wide variety of options. I didn't realize there was such an extreme amount of options.

A traditional bag doesn't appear to be helpful to me. The reason it doesn't is two fold:

  • Carrying a bag (which amounts to what I used when I went to school) around on the back of my wheelchair has proven unsuccessful. I've experienced so many tight spaces. There is a very real possibility I would squeeze and damage something inadvertently.
  • The other challenge is physically loading and unloading this on my wheelchair. If I am having a really bad day I am going to avoid this because of the amount of pain the series of steps involved will cause me. I purchased the digital camera as an outlet to help me co-exist with my chronic pain.

Instead I've decided on buying a piece of luggage. I've not selected just any piece of luggage. What I've purchased has a hard shell made of ABS and 4 wheels. I think this will provide the best protection to the equipment while I am out, a viable means of storing and ease of accessing before I leave my home and when I arrive back home after taking my photos.

My plan requires just 1 more step. I will need to buy some grey foam from my local fabric and craft store. I will need to work out a storage pattern for the various pieces of equipment. For the short term I have a variety of small bags each item may be stored in to provide padding and I will just know what is in each bag. When the final accessories arrive I will sit down and design a storage solution. I own a foam cutting (using heat) to which I may make the various shapes for my equipment to live in.
