Appointment With My Family Doctor
[ Monday October 22nd 2018 at 10:55 am ]

I've finished another appointment with my family doctor. There were two main themes for today's appointment.

It was time for a routine check up for my chronic pain. When you live with chronic pain managing it becomes an ongoing discussion with your health care team. I trust my family doctor concerning this. He has been very compassionate and understanding.

I also needing to update my family doctor with the latest setbacks I've experienced in both of my knee joints. In practice my knee joints no longer are able to serve their function. The latest deterioration progressed since my routine chronic pain management appointment 8 weeks ago. I'm experiencing the same clicking - popping followed by severe debilitating pain my hip joints experienced as they tore themselves apart.

I was told this told this would happen to me when a 91 year old orthopedic surgeon was brought out of retirement to assess me. He was aware of the treatment methodology of my Legg Perthes disease from the 1970's and early 1980's. He knew of the collateral damage this causes to the knee joints.

The plan now is to organize an injection to affirm the source of pain as being deteriorated cartilage. I am open to pursuing this. It is a safe injection. It is a process I am enduring. I am trying to help myself. This won't derail my focus on the current chores I have in progress.
