Pre-Surgery Screening Nurse Appointment

My pre-surgery screening nursing appointment went really well. I don't think I could be more satisfied then I presently am.
There were about 40 questions I needed to answer "yes" or "no" to. Each question is a specific illness or ailment a person might have that needs managing during surgery.
- I am on blood pressure medication. Recently my blood pressure has been elevated because of pain caused by doing the physiotherapy to recover from my right knee joint replacement surgery.
- I snore when I sleep. But I don't have sleep apnea.
- I can't climb a flight of stairs due to pain. It is only a factor when a person gets out of breath from doing so.
- I required a blood transfusion during my 1981 hip surgery for Legg Perthes disease.
There is minimal risk in operating on me.
The other task was for the nurse to chart the medications and supplements I am using. I came prepared with a chart I made showing what I use, at what time of the day and a brief explanation where relevant. This was a straight forward process. It was effortless.
As far as nursing is concerned I am ready to have my right knee joint replaced.
