Discharge Day From My Right Knee Replacement Surgery
[ Thursday April 30th 2026 at 9:23 am ]

It is going home day What a great day to be alive.

The past 14 hours haven't been smooth. My microscopic colitis flared up. I've had more diarrhea. I was physically strong enough to be able to get myself to a toilet without hitting my call bell for a nurse. I was able to get my diarrhea under control about 90 minutes after it started. I actually sent my surgeon an e-mail to say thank you for keeping me in the hospital while building up my endurance if this did happen to me.

I am going to take the train home to Belleville. I am looking forward to how beautiful the scenery is. It will make up for some of the pain from the past week.

At the moment I am just waiting for the physiotherapist to come talk to me and the resident orthopaedic doctor.

I have my hopes up for tomorrow getting a male Syrian hamster. Sir Barry is going to be his name. If you didn't see an earlier post: He is getting a title since he'll see me through the recovery from this surgery. This is worthy of a title.
