A Friend Purchased Some Supplies

One of my friends has stopped at my home on the way home. I am really glad to see him. He has helped me today. He stopped at a the hardware store to purchased some items I need after he finished work for today.

  • The tires in my power wheelchair need to be topped up with air. I had a distant memory of my air chuck in a tool box with screw drivers. When I looked it wasn't there. With my left artificial hip failing I can't risk further pain. In this situation I accept starting over with a new air chuck, quick connect and Teflon tape to make the connection air tight. What I will do differently is buy a box to keep my air tool accessories in so it is easy to locate in the future.
  • The other thing he purchased for me is a metal long neck oil changing funnel. This is the final component I need for my leaf blower to sand blaster conversion. The long neck oil changing funnel will narrow the blasting media. This is necessary for it to be effective removing removing paint. The blasting media will be gravity fed. I have already purchased a metal water bottle to hold the blasting media.

This should take about 30 minutes to modify the leaf blower. This includes time to have some breaks in order to avoid overloading my legs. When this is complete the first project I will be using this on is are the 3 guinea pig to hamster cage conversation. I need to strip the paint the manufacturer applied when the guinea pig cages were originally manufactured. The paint needs to be removed for me to spot weld additional bars to make the cage suitable habitat for a hamster. I am really looking forward to getting another little buddy. This is making the planning and working on this project very rewarding.
