I have been watching videos on youTube that show the steps involved in modifying a leaf blower into a sand blaster. The weakness in this is that the blasting media could make it into the motor when the power is turned off. It won't be as robust. But it does make sense to me. It is about 30 minute job modifying a leaf blower into a sand blaster. What I need it for is a one off job. This is to strip the paint off guinea pig cage before additional bars are spot welded onto it making the cage suitable for use as a hamster cage. I was able to identify unsold older stock where the price has been reduced. This is significantly less expensive than buying an air based sand blaster and the 10 gallon air compressor needed to supply the sand blaster with ongoing air.
