Back To The Emergency Department For My Eye Ailment

I've been feeling pain in my right eye today. It looks like I've been a bar fight. As well my right eye is weeping. I needed to be seen. I've just finished being treated in the emergency department of my local hospital. They are trying 3 methods to get my right eye under control:

  • There is a possibility that this is a bacterial infection. I have been prescribed a 7 day course of antibiotic medication.
  • This could be a yeast infection. There are treating the yeast with a very powerful medicine so my body may recover.
  • They are also giving me a 7 day supply of steroids to help my body fight off any yeast that is attacking my eye.
    • We actually want to understand what is wrong with my eye. In addition to the medication my eye has been swabbed. The hope is that something will grow in the hospital's lab and be able to be diagnosed the underlying issue. We need to know why my eye is weeping. I've been screened for all the illnesses an eye is able to acquire. I don't have a chronic vision problem. It doesn't make sense of what is wrong right now. Additionally I am being directed for a reassessment of the eye doctor who assessed me on October 6th and 27th. I am being taken care of. This is what matters.

Unfortunately my time at the hospital hasn't been as pleasant as other visits. A patient with down syndrome was also at the hospital. He came to the hospital on account of breathing issues. He clearly needed help. But he felt he should be seen by a doctor and released after 90 minutes. His temper kept getting the best of him every few minutes. I didn't enjoy his outbursts.
