My New Gaming Controller Is Defective

After spending over an hour troubleshooting with friends we've discovered my new gaming controller is defective. It will need to be returned for a refund. The right trigger won't fully release. This is cancelling my left trigger inputs. It won't work for playing American Truck Simulator. What finally solved the issue of what broke was using the Steam "big picture mode" > settings > controller > test device inputs. I don't expect it will be troublesome to return and get my money back. It is just too bad this has happened. I thought I had the issue of my controller needing replacing solved.
