Appointment With The Social Worker Helping Me With Grief
[ Friday March 31st 2023 at 2:30 pm ]

Today's appointment with the social worker went well. Primarily what she helped me with today is preparing for the grief mandela exercise that will occur in next week's group. It is clear that I didn't understand the instructions from the group in the fall. Art type exercises make sense with me. This is something I want to do before I finish having appointments with the social worker.

A mandela is meant to contain repeating symmetric patterns. The grief support group I am attending didn't provide a template in the fall session. This is included with the current session. The hope is that I make a list of 5 to 8 emotions or recurring themes around my aunt dying. In the fall sessions my chronic pain was out of control after my right knee buckling. I had a hard time making a list of emotions beyond simply trying to make the best out of my life. The plan is that the social worker will help me work on this at my next appointment if I don't get a good start of this during the group.
