Planning Progress On My Sump Pump Alerting Panel
[ Friday March 24th 2023 at 5:25 pm ]

I have spent time today working on the next phase of my sump pump Arduino project: Designing the layout of the alerting panel that will be installed on the main floor of my home. It is coming together nicely. This has been a lot of attention to detail measuring. I believe I have developed a layout that will fit, is easily understood and functional.

For several years I've sourced laser etched labels from a business in England. The style of labels I am referring to are smaller versions of a name plate you might see on an office door or a desk in a professional business environment. David is a pleasure to do business with. I contacted him mid afternoon in Eastern time zone and submitted my order. He is going on vacation and is going to produce my order tomorrow. This means he spent some time in the evening prepping my order for production tomorrow. This really goes above and beyond what I could have expected. I really appreciate the kindness David has shown me again today.

I get great satisfaction in using my hands and creating things. The sump pump monitor project stems from my physical disability. It is a practical solution to the difficulty I experience in accessing my sump pump due to my legs. I will be able to remotely run the 12 volt battery backup sump pump as well as be alerted to failure in the hardware. I am hoping this will be completed in about 6 weeks. We'll see. I am enjoying the creative and prototyping process.
