First Dental Appointment Following Covid
[ Tuesday March 7th 2023 at 2:25 pm ]

I have just had my first dental appointment since the covid pandemic was declared.

I have a very serious cavity I didn't feel because of my pain mamagement regime. The pain medication was masking what would otherwise be a really painful cavity. I am on a knifes edge if I need a root canal. They are hoping they can fix it with a cavity filled. Then it is a "wait and see". The upshot is when this is sorted I should have better pain control. As a result I should be feeling better and able to do more in the not so distant future.

I will be having two more appointments in the near future. The really serious cavity will be repaired next week. During today's appointment my lower teeth were cleaned. When I have the cavity filled we'll setup a time to clean my upper teeth. Then I will resume the routine dental appointments I was having pre-covid.

I might add that the dental staff as a whole were very understanding about my decision to not have dental cleanings during covid. With what is wrong in my legs and my medical treatment I was offered shortly after the pandemic was declared put me in the position of deciding between the vaccine or regenerative medicine. I couldn't do both. My knees were clearly more important. I was undergoing at the start of covid It seems like nothing happened. As soon as I arrived at the dentist office today one of the staff said to "Hi Ron". Another one smiled to me. It didn't feel like three years have passed since my previous appointment. I was happy about this.
