Thinking About What My New Contingency Plan Is
[ Tuesday March 7th 2023 at 1:51 am ]

My right knee has locked while I am using the tub earlier this evening. I was soaking in really warm water to help ease the stiffness in my legs. This legitimately helps me. I am disappointed this happen again.

More than disappointed I've been thinking through the implications of this. My right knee joint is very raw and tender. This very much challenges my plans. If I am going to pursue self employment and my other goals I need them to be viable and not repeatedly being upended when my legs aren't doing okay. I think I've finally come up with the midway compromise.

In spring - summer 2023 I would like to finish getting my shed setup so it is suitable for year round usage. This is so I may start creating pieces with my laser engraver and a few woodworking projects. Then my goal is to sell them online for income and put the money into maintenance for my home.

I clearly need to try using each of the woodworking tools to ensure I am still able and capable of doing so safely. This isn't worth pursuing if I am going to give myself an injury unrelated to my legs. Assuming this is possible I think where I now stand is hiring someone to cut up the plywood my laser engraver will etch onto and my initial focus will be the creation of picture frames for finishing off the pieces my laser engraver creates. At this moment the other small woodworking products I thought of creating are irrelevant.

Initially finishing tidying and organizing my home is my highest priority. There are a few other high priority "to do" items right now. By this time the warmer weather will be here and the shed renovations will have my attention. I am going to require a lot of practical help. I am thankful that there are people who believe in me and willing to assist me. Even if I need to hire some labour for the shed I still think it is worth it.

There has been several people impressed with my sewing machine skills. This has stemmed from the people I shared the black out curtains I am sewing to help myself sleep better. Potentially some small sewing projects could be an alternative for some income (in addition to what I received from my disability benefits) if the woodworking simply doesn't work out.
