Remaining Building Materials For French Drain Have Been Delivered

The remaining materials I need to make my yard drain have been delivered to my home. A friend took me to the hardware store. The combination of his body and my brains were necessary as a team effort. It has been truly wonderful having a friend help me with this. It gave us a chance to visit. Friendships are really important to me.

For "attempt #1" I was going to use OSB for the cement form. When I started drilling the drainage holes the OSB was splintering and shattering. Instead I need to use plywood. The store cut the plywood to size. What remains is the 154 drainage holes. I will plug away at this over the next few days.

I've also made an important discovery: Plywood is more rigid than OSB. I would never use OSB for a cement form again. My original reasoning was to use OSB for the strength. For what OSB is useful for in framing a home it is a good product. But using plywood is a better option for when I cast cement. I enjoy the learning that goes along with my projects.
