Confirmed The Medical Records Were Faxed From My Pain Management Doctor To My Family Doctor Office

While I was at my pain specialist today one of the items needing to be taken care of was sorting out why my consultation notes weren't being faxed to my family doctor office. It turns out their computer program only sends records to the "primary doctor" and not the "referral doctor". It seems this was an honest clerical error since my family doctor name was only in the "referral doctor" field. I just checked with my family doctor office. They received the fax. They now have the past records and notes from the appointment I had today. In Alberta Canada there is one patient chart for the entire province. Here in Ontario Canada each health care facility has their own patient chart system. It is disjointed. I try hard to compensate for this.
