Purchased A Stem Valve For Using My Window Air Conditioner Drain

A few days ago I was talking to my friend who is a licensed mechanic. We were brainstorming what might work from the automotive world for use as a drain for my window air conditioner. The idea he came up with is a brass fuel line union. I went over to the auto supply store. They had a better idea: The use of a valve stem with the mechanism used to fill and hold air in the tire it is installed in. I have purchased this. Installing it will be straight forward: Drilling a 12mm hole and cutting a "V" shaped wedge in the top so water on the base metal of the window air conditioner funnels into this. My friend is hoping to help me by installing this on Tuesday. It should be a simple project. Then what I will be able to do is use some rubber tubing to direct the water coming from the window air conditioner to what is suitable. Without this modification water was dripping into the abandon coal chute and entering my basement. This is very promising and not hard to do.
