Raising Awareness For Wheelchair Safety In "Big Box" Stores

In this video I speak about the practical reality of operating a power wheelchair safely within "big box" stores. Today a parent allowed a young child to walk behind my power wheelchair. It nearly caused me to back my wheelchair into the young child. The store isle this occurred in was packed with customers and multiple "bottle necks" were created by in store isle merchandise displays. I've also talked about techniques for approaching someone who uses a power wheelchair to offer practical assistance. Remember a wheelchair a tool for the person using it. It doesn't make the user less of a person.
