Ordered A Replacement Router
[ Monday March 18th 2019 at 4:56 pm ]

My smoke detector went off last night. It only lasted for about 15 seconds. I was sure that I smelled something that triggered the smoke detector. I called the emergency phone number for Canada used the emergency phone and promptly triggered an inspection of my home by the local fire department. Nothing was identified as the source.

After the fire department employees left I started looking around. I found discoloration in my home computer network router. A search on the Internet shows it had overheated. There is an unnatural smell coming from it. I gave my findings to a friend who is a licensed electrician. We spoke about 6 hours later. He believes this could have caused it.

I've ordered a replacement router. It is expected to be delivered within 2 days. I will be glad when it is here. I want to keep myself and home safe. I've purchased an upgraded model. It is a good intermediate step in the growth of my goals for working at home. My employment goals require a well thought out computer network. One step at a time.
