Cancelled Web Host Account

I've used a web host for the better part of 20 years various interactions of my web site and for sending and receiving e-mail. Since 2012 I've hosted my web sites myself and only used a commercial web host for sending and receiving e-mail. With my growing knowledge in server commands it is natural for me to move forward with assuming responsibility for e-mails myself.
In recent months I've setup a VPS account for sending and receiving my e-mails. This is less expensive than a commercial web host account. Friends in the industry are helping me maintain the VPS software account. I think they are inspired of the effort I am making trying to make the best of my circumstances.
I am trying to get setup for the growth needed that would let me be self employed and one day no longer need my disability pensions. This is the next natural step in this process.
