Set My Mobility Scooter Gusset Plate Reinforcing In Motion
[ Tuesday January 15th 2019 at 1:27 pm ]

One of the modifications to my mobility scooter is to use gusset plates. The idea is to reinforce the welds. This is so the frame so the mobility scooter will not tweak as I use it. The tolerances are just too tight. I am planning on the mobility scooter lasting. It will be my vehicle going forward.

After thinking about it more I contacted the company that lazer cut the stereo speaker bezels for me. I am going to hire them to lazer cut the gusset plates. I've asked them to save end cuts of the appropriate steel I'll be using over the next 3 months. The gusset plates I need will be 'L' shaped and 2 inches or 5 cm long.

The weather will warm up in May. This is when I can do the welding or a neighbor offered if this is too hard for me (physically speaking). I've got a plan. That is what matters to me. I need the mobility scooter. As I go down the street vibrations that go through my power wheelchair are too painful.
