Furnace Maintenance Inquiry

I am hearing a noise coming from my furnace. It sounds like a fan belt in a car wearing out. I've sent an inquiry to the sales employee I dealt with in 2005 for advice. I knew this was going to happen. It isn't serious yet. It is obvious at some point I am going to need to plan for a new furnace.
I need to start setting aside money for this purchase. I've done the calculation. $30 a month is the depreciation of my current furnace. I am glad I know this now. Going forward I will start saving this money each month so I have the financial means of buying a new furnace in the future.
