My next extra mortgage payment is set in motion

I've just heard back from the financial planner at the bank. My next lump sum mortgage payment will process on December 31st. It is a huge relief taking the next step to pay down my mortgage using the funds from my inheritance.
I have some decisions to make. I will have the financial means to pay out my mortgage in 2019. However I need to make sure I am making the best use of the inheritance. If the house needs maintenance (like a new furnace) using the money on a new furnace is more important.
I will see how the next few months go. The financial planner at the bank has offered to lower my mortgage payments if this is what is best so I am able to work towards my home business and not have to be worrying about my bills. I have to be able to manage my energy so I am getting the most possible done each day under the circumstances which I live.
Ultimately the last bill each month is for food. There are various soup kitchens and food banks in town. When you live in chronic pain the 'catch' is you just don't have the energy to both be attending these food programs and also be working on my aspiration for self employment. Breaking the cycle of poverty is far more important than putting out fires. I am thinking through what is best for me while making sure I have the provision necessary to manage my physical needs.
