Purchased Hand Towels To Make Bibs

A few weeks ago I gave a used stroller to one of the young adults in the community I know. His girl friend is pregnant. I know the stroller will help them be a family. I've thought a bit more about him. There is one more step I can take to support him and help the transition to family life be easy.

I've started sewing black out curtains for myself. This is to promote better sleep. I am limited in how much I can sew at a time due to my physical disability. While I am sewing I am not thinking about my physical challenges. I am really enjoying it. There is a way I can use my sewing to help this young family get started.

Several years ago my aunt showed me bibs made out of hand towels with with a knit fabric to line the neck hole. I'd like to make a supply of these for this young family. What I am reading online talks about less laundry and bibs being easier to wash than changing clothes each meal.

I've just ordered a supply of hotel hand towels and the knit fabric from an Asian country. I figure over the course of 5 days I'll have these sewn. We are early enough into the pregnancy to be able to buy from an Asian country. With limited funds this will allow me to do the most possible for helping this family get started.

I am genuinely hoping as a side benefit that this will help this young couple grow in their relationship. I know when I get tired I need to be left alone. When I was in my late teens and early 20's I needed to deal with emotional related issues when I am well rested. In a practical sense I hope the bibs free up time that may avoid unnecessary disagreements caused by being over tired and the stress of household chores like laundry.
