Talking With A Friend Who Is An Effective Sounding Board

I've just finished meeting with a friend who is a very effective sounding board. I met with him to see what he sees as the best treatment route for my health care treatment and why.
The time I spent with him has given me what I had open to accomplsiehd. I have something objective to think about for someone who isn't emotionally invested in this process. He was also objective in the financial concerns I am facing.
