Surgeon's Administrative Assistant Returned My Phone Call

I've had a very helpful phone call from my surgeon's administrative assistant. She completely understood the question I was asking about pain control and not revoke any possible options the surgeon is able to present me with. She has told me what medication to ask an ER doctor to inject into my knee joints if I need this.
I've also found out a valuable piece of information. The surgeon doesn't have the referral yet. I don't know if this means the fax machine didn't properly connect or if my family doctor used his time to care for the urgent needs of other patients. I will chase this around. I really enjoy doing the grunt work for my medical treatment.
