First Surgeon Follow Up Appointment Following My Right Knee Replacement Surgery

I had the first appointment after my right knee joint was replaced with my surgeon. It was sufficiently unpleasant. My pain flared up really bad about an hour before this appointment. I had to use the anti-nausea medication. The medication to stop the nausea knocks the snot out of me every single time I use it. When my surgeon first sat down in the examination room I was in I told my surgeon about the pain and nausea from earlier in the morning and if I say or do something that doesn't match my normal self this is why. He honestly appreciated this.
We talked for about 25 minutes. I wanted to tell him all the good things that have happened. For example my right knee pain is way down. Also before the nerves reconnected I was spending about 3 hours a day feeling like I was 25 years old again. This is 23 years ago. He was really happy to hear this because of how abnormal my knee replacement was.
Then I told him I needed to let me get into his head so I can understand what he needs me to do so my body heals okay. He was good-natured about this. The answer is very unpleasant in terms of the stretches my knee joint needs me to do in order to heal. But in terms of talking and explaining what was needed to me my surgeon was very reasonable.
The hope is for my "I had surgery pain" to go down during the 3rd week of June. It is reasonable to expect my incision to no longer prevent me from using the warm water therapy pool during the week of June 8th.
The final 5 minutes before I left was me asking my surgeon how he was doing and relationship type questions. This is how this particular doctor and I got to know each other and build a relationship so he is able to understand me and that I may have trust in him.
