Completed Some Chores In Preparation For My Surgery

I was into the pet store. I purchased more food for Gary The Hamster. There is enough feed to get Gary through the next 3½ months. This includes the extra feed I gave Gary to find and store as an enrichment activity. I also purchased a $100 gift card. When supplies are needed for Gary a friend can go to the pet store. This is my plan for him as I start the recovery from my hip revision surgery. The pet store is a family run business. They understand about my hips and that I am having surgery to improve my life.
I stopped at the bank. I got a roll of coins. This is to pay for bus farebetween the train station and the hospital where I am having my surgery. I have also lined up an appointment with their financial planner to make a year end contribution to my Registered Disability Savings Plan. I am contributing the the amount of money that will get me the maximum available grant for 2025. The Federal Government of Canada acts as an employer with their contribution. This is the mechanism in Canada that will pay for my power wheelchair maintenance and expenses created as a result of my physical disability once I turn 65.
I also have my medication sorted out for delivery on November 21st 2025. I needed to make arrangements for it to be released a few days early. This will come with me when I travel to the city where my surgery is happening on November 24th 2025. The hospital requires that I bring the medications I am using with me for my stay in hospital following surgery. In the event the hospital can't source the medication they will use what I brought with me. This is another chore I have taken care of in preparation for my surgery.
I am planning to wear a face mask during the train and public transit travel when I leave on Monday. The hospital is concerned that I don't get covid before my surgery. They have to give me a general anesthesia to sedate me for surgery because my operation will last longer than 2 hours. I have gone into the fabric supply store to buy new elastic for around the ears of my face mask. The elastic I was using has stretched and is no longer fit for purpose.
After the fabric store I went to a department store to get a house key cut for my neighbor to care for Gary The Hamster and a friend in case my neighbour is unavailable. This will ensure Gary has enough food while I am away.
I also went into the dollar store. Although now the products being sold cost $5 and less. I purchased of 6 bowls and mugs. I accidentally broken some of my previous set during the past decade. I found bowls with a handle. I think this is the practical approach I am needing for the recovery. A handle will be especially helpful If I need to lay down while I eat at home this will work well.
