Follow Up With My Family Doctor For Infection

Yesterday evening I had a bowel movement which was about 1/6 covered in phlegm. I needed to know if this was concerning or acceptable given the present circumstances. I've just contacted my family doctor's office. I am advised as long as I am healing and improving this isn't concerning. A second bowel movement covered in phlegm warrants either attending the emergency department or an appointment with my family doctor.
