A manager of the City of Ottawa OC Transpo para-transit service has reached out to me. In fact he has done both things I asked for. With how challenging the pain I experience is I asked that someone would send me an e-mail to explain what I needed to know in terms of visiting Ottawa and gaining the use of their para transit service with my power wheelchair since I might not remember this and then call me on the phone to go over this. The manager was easy to talk with and willing to answer the questions I needed addressing. I didn't feel talked down to. I was comfortable the entire time. I have the knowledge I need in order to attend an appointment with my knee surgeon in Ottawa. This phone call and e-mail means I have the knowledge for viable transportation. When I am able to get a letter to the surgeons office expressing the need for an urgent appointment I will be able to follow through. This is instead of obtaining an urgent appointment and then missing it because of not having a means of transportation. This is one of the things I needed to happen.
