A Surprise Visit With A Friend

I've had a really hard few days. One of my friends has stopped by to see me. I had forgot that we planned this. It was a pleasant surprise when he arrived.
The physical challenges and pain in my hips and knees has been a marathon I really could have done without. It has been using up my emotional fortitude just to co-exist with these challenges. In the midst of this I had a misunderstanding with one of my closest friends. It has wrecked the friendship.
After it was too late I talked to a childhood friend of his. I now realize at the heart of this disagreement is how my and the next generation approach conflict fundamentally different. It seems senseless that this friendship has ended. I am so glad one of my friends stopped to see me. I have been finding this hard similar to when my mom died from cancer 25 years ago.
