I've just arrived at the pavalian where I need to show my government issued ID to activate my new bank account. Even though the financial institution has a pavalian in the grocery store and the grocery store is open this is being treated as a banking holiday from Canada's 150th birthday on Saturday. I need to come back later in the week to do this. Ultimately this bank account will allow me to accept the money transfers from my youTube video Patreon sponsors.
