Purchased My Christmas Turkey
[ Tuesday November 28th 2023 at 2:05 pm ]

I am starting to think about winter. I just did some grocery shopping. I am trying to stock up on non-perishable and frozen ingredients I will eat through this winter. One of the things I purchased was a 10 pound turkey. Even though it is just me I always roast a turkey for Christmas. There is so much meat that it allows me to make soups, stews as well as several turkey dinners. As a strategy for living by myself and with a chronic condition advanced meal preparation really helps me out.

This will help make my Christmas much better than 2022. On Christmas morning 2022 my one remaining grandparent died. It just didn't feel like Christmas. In fact I haven't opened all my Christmas cards for 2022 yet. I wasn't interested in celebrating. I am pretty sure Christmas this year will be better. I wasn't surprised grandma had died. There isn't a good time to die. She was 97. It was natural. In 2022 Christmas essentially came and went. I really hope this year is better.
