Booked Maintenance For My Furnace

I woke up Sunday morning to there being no heat in my home. My furnace broke over night. I think there is something wrong with the blower. I am not too concerned. We aren't in the Canadian winter weather yet. I own an oil filled electric heater to keep myself warm in the event of a furnace breakdown.
I have just got off the phone to book a service appointment for my furnace. It is about to be assessed this evening. Then it will depend if they have the part in stock needed to repair it. If my guess is correct a blower or motor should be kept in the shop as this would be a common fault.
Before I called I read over the warranty - service plan details I received in 2019. To be eligible you are required to sign up to the warranty service plan. I didn't pursue this during the pandemic. I was offered medical treatment for my physical disability that was not compatible with the vaccine. For me it was an easy decision. My medical treatment was more important than something that is preventative.
