My gut was correct after all. The double sided tape my gaming controller - gaming headset holder came with wasn't fit for purpose in the long run. I believe the technical data that the adhesive does increase in strength over the initial 3 days following installation. But adhesives can be fickle. The holder just dropped from my desk allowing my new gaming controller and gaming headset to fall to the floor. As well a computer speaker was also knocked to the floor during the tumble. I have just drilled a pair of holes into the holder and installed it with screws. I really shouldn't second guess these types of things. I know about construction and the limits of the various fastener methods. The cost of my gaming controller and gaming headset are worth nearly $300 CAD. I am not giving them a second chance of breaking.
