Administered Treatment #8 For Rocky The Hamster's Abscess With Cryogenic Freezing

I just gave Rocky the next freezing treatment. Overall Rocky cooperates with me. Rocky now recognizes the sound of the cold being discharged before I apply it to his ear. After the treatment I also give him an antibiotic to help his body. But I do more than this. I pet Rocky's forehead and gently talk to him. I don't want to just treat the abscess. I also want Rocky to know I care about and love him. I want him to know we are team as he goes through this and he isn't alone. The pet store told me a 3 month life expectancy at the time of an abscess forming is what to expect. It has now been four months. It is working giving Rocky affection and support in addition to the medical component. Several months ago I saw a vet technician talking about this while treating a baby kangaroo. It now makes sense to me.
