6 Week Follow Up Grief Support Group Check In Session
[ Tuesday June 13th 2023 at 8:00 pm ]

We've just finished the 6 week follow up session with the grief support group I started attending in May 3rd 2023. The session went how I expected it to go. Overall it was an opportunity to check in with the members who attended the group to see if they required additional support.

Between attending the group twice and the one on one appointments with the social worker at my family doctor office I have received the help I needed. This hasn't ever going to be pleasant. But it was helpful. This is what matters to me. I've grasped what I missed when attending the first time.

I have a bit of mixed feelings over this. I enjoyed meeting the facilitators and other members of this group. In the context of social engagement I will miss these people.

The organization that runs this group relies on donations. Once my laser engraver is setup I plan to run of a few pieces that will be used as a fund raiser to help the organization exist and support others enduring the effects of grief. I am happy to do this.

On the other hand I put off several tasks on my "to do" list so I'd be feeling okay during the 7 sessions and limit the changes that I'd be struggling with focus on account of the severity of the pain I experience.

I now need to be putting time into my projects. I am a bit disappointed that my "to do" list is in the state that it presently is in. I have tried my best to make life work during the group. I am hoping life will go smoothly during the next few months so my focus in life is forward looking and not finishing partly completed tasks.
