Ordered The Strapping Wood For The Shed Insulation Project
[ Saturday June 25th 2022 at 11:18 pm ]

I have placed a Buy Online - Pick Up In Store order with my local Home Depot. My order is for 50 pieces of 2" x 3" x 8' strapping. This should be available for pick up tomorrow. The purpose is to build out the shed walls so I may insulate it using 2" x 6" insulation bats (opposed to using 2" x 4" insulation bats). All 4 walls of the shed are outside walls. This is well worth the effort. Doing this will permanently reduce the cost of heating and cooling the building.

I am going to be using it for the woodworking component of my laser engraver. This is to earn money. With the disability pension I receive being about $7,000 CAD a year below the poverty line I really need supplemental income. With such a low benefit rate money I earn in addition to my disability pension represents quality of life. I would like more for my life. I am willing to put in the effort.

But this is more than just money. The creative part involved in using my hands helps me cope and co-exist with my physical disability and chronic pain. I completely get away from my limits when I am involved in a creative process. Etching photos onto wood and then finishing the pieces off with a picture frame this should help me in co-existing with my physical disability and chronic pain. I don't see anything bad that will come of this. I am pleased.
