Table Saw Blade Is Changed With Help From My Friend
[ Friday June 3rd 2022 at 5:42 pm ]

My friend that is a mechanic stopped by to help me for about 30 minutes. I am so glad he came. I needed his skills.

He changed the table saw blade for me. When I purchased my table saw used it came with a 24 tooth blade. This is a rough cut blade. What I need to use for making the picture frames is an 80 tooth blade. This leaves precision cuts. Technically I could have changes this myself. But the physical effort required to change the blade would amount to about 5 days of debilitating pain. It just isn't worth it. It is very helpful. This is a one of those things that makes a big difference for me and my quality of life. The friend is a mechanic. He is able to change the blade without a problem.

The other thing I asked him to help me with happened earlier in the day. My woodworking router won't adjust vertically. The gearing screwed to the side of the woodworking router isn't interfacing correctly with the vertical height adjustment. It is designed to either turn a knob or use an Allen key for vertical adjustments. I found a video of this on youTube. It moves with ease. Something is wrong with my model. We discovered a c clip is missing. I found the exploded diagram of the woodworking router and printed this off. I gave this to my friend to see if he could make sense out of. Otherwise I will need to send the woodworking router for warranty repairs. The woodworking router will be used to carve the profile of the picture frames.

All in all it really makes a big difference when friends are able to make themselves available for 30 - 45 minutes with skills they have. I am so grateful. This bit of help will keep me encouraged for several days. This was the right help at the right time.
