Rescheduled Appointment With Doctor
[ Thursday March 24th 2022 at 10:48 am ]

I've just had a phone call from a specialist medical clinic. They have asked me to reschedule my appointment to the following day. This is to allow the specialist doctor to have more time with me. What is wrong my right knee is spiralling out of control. I am glad the doctor wants to help me. I would love to be able to not be solely focused on survival and just "putting out fires" caused by my physical disability. I want more for my life. I am willing to put in the effort. If the knee joint is simply not cooperating and in fact is worsening it may very well be time to move onto a surgical solution. I am glad I'll have the time to update the doctor on the latest series of setbacks.

Unfortunately I am gravely concerned repeating the regenerative medicine treatment is no longer an option. Platelet rich plasma treatment will not be successful when a knee cap dislocating event occurs within 6 weeks following this medical treatment. The knee joint must be stable. The hope had been to stabilize my right knee joint with a brace for the 6 weeks following treatment. The orthotist's administrative assistant has advised me the amount of swelling I'm experiencing is likely to make a knee cap tracking brace impractical. The swelling is to the extent that the knee cap is not discernible.

I'm happy to be realistic about what can be done to help me. I am not wanting to be living a "pipe dream". I know my right knee joint is evolving for the worst. I'm expecting this to be a sobering appointment. At least I have a doctor that is wanting to help me. This honestly makes all the difference.
