My Backyard Has Not Flooded In The Spring Thaw

It has just dawned on me: My backyard hasn't flooded during the spring thaw this year. My yard drainage project has worked to prevent water and mold damage again this year. This is the second spring with it in place. It is truly amazing just how well it has worked. What I had help installing is a French drain with a dry well to provide a pathway for the water to go below the frost line and be absorbed as the snow melts. In fact where the dry well is situated we found the footings for what would have been a well using to attain drinking water before my home was connected to the city water supply. It is a huge relief this has worked. This is the second year it has been in place for the spring thaw. It is a passive system. It doesn't require electricity. This is something I am able to count on providing protection to my home going forward.
