I reached out to a household electronics recycling programming. They are willing to give me a worn out microwave oven. Then I will bring it home, remove the transformer and power cord. Then return the remainders for them to recycle. This is exciting. This is needed to make a spot welder. The pathway forward to modifying a guinea pig cage for Rocky the hamster is coming together. I am pleased. This is one of the big items necessary off my life. A microwave transformer is essential for the process of making a spot welder.
