Diagnostic Imaging From 2013 To Present Will Be Available To Me Where I Have My Orthopaedic Surgeries

Where I live the hospitals are allowed to purge the imaging portion of diagnostic imaging after 10 years. I am not wanting to loose the various x-rays from the orthopaedic clinic and hospital where I had my hips replaced in 2013 and 2015. Last week I left a phone message for the manager of the diagnostic imaging department asking if they would give me a CD of this. I explained this is to help me in the long term with managing my physical disability and documenting that I legitimately have experienced physical challenges for so long. As well it helps me to explain what was going on in terms of imaging dates with what was going on at the time. This helps me provide a better narrative when in orthopaedic assessments.

My phone call was just returned. They are happy to accommodate me. They even understand the reason why. My phone message was the better part of 3 minutes long. I provided my patient identification #, date of birth and health card number to easily identify me as well as critical dates. Then I explained how I intended to use the imaging. This was very well received and appreciated. It is nice when I'm acknowledged for doing what I have control over to help myself. They are going to prepare the CD immediately. It will be available for pick up when I have my next orthopaedic appointment in April.
