A Visit To The Hospital Emergency Department
[ Tuesday August 18th 2020 at 11:17 pm ]

On August 8th 2020 my right ankle woke me up. My right achilles tendon was rigid. While still in bed I gently pivoted my right ankle to point my toes at my face. There was a very violent snap followed by extended painful throbbing. My ankle hasn't recovered on it's own. I have been unable to find a position to sleep in which allowed my right leg to be comfortable. My right ankle keeps throbbing. My sleep has been very broken. I am needing quality sleep.

I went to the emergency department of my local hospital for an in person physical examine. The doctor was direct with me although very gracious at the same time. My right achilles tendon has partially torn right where it joins onto the bone. I am at a critical state of either use it or loose it. The tendon needs extensive physiotherapy in order to recover. One recovered playing the piano about 30 minutes a day will keep it in a healthy state going forward. The emergency department doctor has recommended I use Voltaren Emulgel to bring down the symptoms that are impacting my sleep and give me the ability to stretch.

The impact of this happening to me has become really serious. The impact of this has upped the challenges of completing my activities of daily life. I am back to trying to figure out how I'll go forward in life. I've been at my limit of creativity for some time. I'm inevitably going to be needing a lot of help. I'm hoping friends will help me figure out the logistics of day to day life. This is the best I'm able to figure out right now.
