New Family Doctor Postponed Indefinately

In December 2019 I reached out to the family doctor office 2 blocks from my home to ask if they would take me on as a patient. I explained the challenges with my physical disability and how I am now needing a family doctor near my home because of the challenges I'm having. My family doctor has been in the next village over since 2006. I am not getting the care I'm needing. I keep finding myself too weak to book and then attend appointments when I'm needing it the most.

The family doctor's in Ontario are now having their appointments by phone with their patients. I had an intake appointment lined up for March 26th. But on account of patients not being seen in person the new family doctor office has just called and postponed this indefinitely. I was expecting this to happen after I had an appointment with my family doctor by phone yesterday. The new family doctor office has promised to re-book my intake appointment with a similar wait I was facing as if it was to happen in 8 days.

I trust the process. I am sure my patient transfer will happen. I didn't want my intake appointment to happen by phone. The reason was two fold: Much communication is made by body language and facial expression. Also I have a point form chart by year to share with my new family doctor explaining how my body ended up with this set of physical challenges. It is worth the wait.
