Weather Station Power Supply Has Changed

An electrician has been advising me concerning the setup and installation of my weather station. He has recommended I use a higher amperage power supply with my weather station sensor. I recently changed the power supply for this from a pair of AA to a DC power supply.
The intent is to provide a higher margin of safety. This is opposed to running the DC power supply at 80%+ of it's potential and the continual risks this represents. I am grateful for the advice. I'm finding the learning just about as interesting as the doing.
