Beginning To Dig French Drain

One of my friend's son just spent the past 3 hours starting to dig the French drain at the rear of my property. It is a huge relief seeing this begin. In the spring I had 3,000 liters or roughly 800 gallons of water in my back yard. In the summer of 2018 the house immediate north of mine was torn down and the yard graded. I've inherited all kinds of water. The water was so high it flooded the shed I plan to renovate into an office. I don't want water to wreck the building. It is wonderful receiving help to do something about this.
