Shortened The Weather Station Ratchet Straps

One of the safety features for my weather station installation is the use of ratchet straps. The set I purchased came configured for use with a vehicle and not a 6 inch x 6 inch post. I've needed to shorten and resew the length of strap attached to the ratcheting component. I've also needed to shorten the length of strap that feeds into ratcheting component. There just isn't sufficient physical space to wrap 14 feet of strap onto the ratcheting component. It is truly wonderful to have completed this step.
- The sewing was tricky. My sewing machine periodically snagged the nylon strap material.
- Cinging the edge using my soldering station heat gun at 480° F was straight forward.
All in all I've done something with today that is towards one of my life goals. I am grateful for this.
