Help Carrying My Battery Backup Sump Pump Battery Into Basement

A friend has stopped by to help me. He just carried the marine deep cycle battery into the basement for me. I am really happy about this being done. I am physically unable to do this myself. I am so grateful for the help.
The need for this battery is to power a battery backup sump pump I am creating. I''ve just spent the better part of a combined total $8,500 CAD on a high quality hot water heater and a new furnace. I want to make sure I am protecting my investments and not wrecking them in the event of a power outage or the main sump pump dying.
I have a little bit of wiring remaining in the coming days then this project will be completed. I''m including a digital counter in the setup. This will be installed on the main floor of my home. If I see the counter rising I will need to check if the main sump pump is failing or no longer pumping the water as fast as when it was new.
