Attempt #2 To Connect The Sump Pump Has Not Been Successful
[ Wednesday February 15th 2023 at 6:21 pm ]

The second attempt to replace the sump pump hasn't been successful. The impeller spun for less than a second and jammed. The friend who is helping me replace it is a licensed mechanic. His mindset switched to his mechanic skill set. He is seeing sediment within the sump pump. This doesn't make sense to me. The manual says the sump pump is able to pass objects up to 12.7mm (roughly ½ inch). I don't see how sediment could be the cause of the problem. I don't understand the physics of sediment. But I clearly can't ignore the evidence before me.

My new sump pump is made by DeWalt. It includes an e-mail address for technical support. Instead of the 75 minutes of troubleshooting we did last night I decided the best move is to send a detailed e-mail explaining what has been tried, how it was unsuccessful and ask for help. In other words documenting the methodology and results.

I am still concerned about the sump pump that is failing. I don't want my basement to flood. But I've reached the most I am capable of. I need to take it easy for the sake of my body and pick this up tomorrow. I have confidence DeWalt will respond to me. I've talked to the local rep while shopping at my local Home Depot.

I just hope this works out. I need to switch my focus back to the repair for the burst hot water line. Then what I was originally working on before the water themed issues was sewing black out curtains so I could sleep better at night. I am only able to handle one significant project at a time. The water issues are preoccupying me.
